These include a special birthday cake, free balloons, a storyteller, caricaturist, and fire spinner Laura Scarlette. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it will be a good time to also take in the mine tour. The final Sunday in this series on Aug. 23 will feature a live concert in the Historic Mill building.

What a wonderful honour it is for Dr. Laverne Kindree to receive the Order of Canada Award and right in his own hoe. No one is more deserving than this kind and caring doctor. My Scottish mother, Margaret Drybrough while visiting us from Vancouver many, many years ago was always pleased when that nice "country" doctor made a house call to her when necessary.
