Have a heart

February is Heart Month and a time of year when dedicated volunteers in our community take the time to visit neighbours and friends to raise funds and awareness of heart disease and stroke.

February is Heart Month and a time of year when dedicated volunteers in our

community take the time to visit neighbours and friends to raise funds and

awareness of heart disease and stroke.

To date, funds raised for the Heart and Stroke Foundation have facilitated:

Research to map brains and develop novel therapies for stroke

rehabilitation.

The launch of an innovative awareness campaign to educate women on

their leading cause of death: heart disease and stroke.

Clot-busting drugs that reduce cognitive and physical damage caused by

80 per cent of strokes

Public awareness of stroke signs and heart attack warning signals.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon funds 80 per cent of ALL non-

commercial research done right here in BC. The results of many years of

diligence, determination and perseverance on the part of world-class researchers

and scientists are coming back to our communities.

With your help, we are continuing to learn more about heart disease and stroke.
