Everyone is welcome to come out for a fun hour of songs and stories with Max Tell, a children's entertainer from Vancouver. The library also hosts the fifth annual Scrabble for Literacy tournament on Wednesday (Jan. 27) at 6 p.m. Pick up forms at the library or at Capilano University. Registration is $5 for individuals and $10 for teams but the fees are waived for those with pledges over $10. Proceeds from this event go towards programs at the library and Capilano University.

Join the school on Jan. 27 from 3 until 6 p.m. Shop for adult, youth and children's books, all in excellent condition. Everyone is welcome. Cash only, please. The BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Community Services and the Vancouver Foundation have developed the Living Well, Driving Well workshop in co-sponsorship with the Centre. If you feel it is time to look at your driving, this workshop can help identify areas that may need adjusting when you are behind the wheel. There is another blood pressure monitoring session at the Centre on Monday (Jan. 25) at 12 noon. Volunteers are always needed to help lead activities and art programs. It is my hope and prayer that all who are able to will give a donation to the Haiti earthquake fund. There are so many agencies that once can donate to including locally many of our churches and schools. It is hard to fathom the loss of life and how the people who survived are finally getting the help they need from all around the world. 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 resident Doreen Shaw was pleased to receive word that her neice Rebecca (Larkin) Honorat (of Crescent Beach) and her husband Renell were safe in Haiti following the earthquake. A free multicultural drop-in group is held each Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Howe Sound Women's Centre on Third Avenue. It includes ESL classes and is for anyone who is new to Canada and would like to find friends and support, or women who want to improve their language skills.
