Editor,

Today, as I was driving into work, I was thinking about all of the safety regulations the government puts in place so that our roads are secure to drive -speed limits, alcohol consumption limits, child seat regulations, seat belt laws, more rigorous licensing programs, and, most recently, the cell phone ban.

It is undeniable that all of these well-intentioned laws make the roads safer. Why then, if is illegal for me to drive recklessly, is it not criminal that I am still forced to drive into the oncoming traffic lane around blind corners to avoid blowing out my tires or losing control while navigating through large deep potholes on 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 Valley Road?

Yes, a couple of quick patch jobs were done in response to the article in The Chief, but most of those repairs have been disrupted by road use and are back to their original state or worse.

In the past, the government (Ministry of Transportations) blamed the road contractor (Miller Capilano) and vice versa for various reasons as to why the road wasn't getting fixed.

The residents of the Upper 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 Valley have recently been told by the Ministry of Transport that this road is going to be properly repaired at some point in the spring... but this is not enough.

Until these repairs, there needs to be regular maintenance (at least on a weekly basis). A road this badly damaged is a hazard for the residents or anyone that drives it.

I would much rather have people drive and talk on a phone or be unbuckled, than to put my life in such imminent danger twice a day on 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 Valley Road.

How is it that we live in a country with so many safety regulations that allow these kinds of Third World road conditions for its taxpayers?
