's 40th call of the year came on Saturday for a young man in need of help at Brohm Lake.

SAR's B.J. Chute told The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ the man had jumped off one of the cliffs at the lake and needed medical assistance.

His friends had assisted him to the shore, but he was still in the water when help arrived.

First responders were able to hike to the scene, stabilize the patient and bring him by SAR's boat to a waiting BC Ambulance. He was then transported to the hospital.

While the man survived the incident, Chute was unable to divulge any more about the youth's condition for privacy reasons.

As a general safety public service announcement, Chute said folks should remember that though warmer temperatures have arrived, lakes and rivers around ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ are still cold.

"So to be prepared for that," he said, adding that if folks are determined to cliff dive, it is crucial to ensure the area is clear and know the height of the cliffs that they're jumping off, and do so with caution.
