The annual ArtWalk returns this weekend with numerous venues for enthusiasts to choose from. And with over $1,000 in draw prizes to be won, organizers from VISUALS arts society expects to attract a lot of interest.

"As has been the case with our Art at the Markets this summer, we expect visitors from across the ocean as well as close to home," said publicity director, Wanda Doyle. Organized by the 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 Valley Artists Society, ArtWalk is a self-guided art tour that highlights artist studios and galleries showing member works.

This year, 17 venues stretch from Lions Bay to Brackendale, attracting people from far and wide. Venues open 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

"Each venue features artists working in one or more mediums," said director Liz Taitt. "You'll be able to see works in progress as well as purchase finished pieces."

Works include paintings, sculpture, woven metal, turned wood, drawing, stained glass, pyrography, photography, mixed media, pottery and Italian glass mosaics.

"There's something for everyone," said Doyle.

Some of these same artists have donated their works as draw prizes this weekend. Visitors who have 11 or more venues stamp their Key to Art will be given a ballot to enter the draw. The six prizes will be drawn at the Adventure Centre at the conclusion of ArtWalk.

A summer-long fundraiser raffle will also conclude at the ArtWalk finale. The winner will receive Doyle's hand-finished, limited edition print of "A Walk in the Park." Raffle proceeds will go to support both the Howe Sound Women's Centre and VISUALS.

Tickets are a suggested donation of $5 and will be available at the Adventure Centre during ArtWalk. Your Key to Art and the complete ArtWalk Guide can be printed from the VISUALS website, www.squamishart.com or from last week's Chief.

"We look forward to seeing everyone on the tour!" said Doyle.
