It鈥檚 a big step, Danielle Sweeney says excitedly over the phone.聽
鈥淭his is basically a giant investment,鈥� the singer notes while in the midst of a studio session.聽
Along with her band mates, 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 local Scott Verbeek, Andrew Fraser and Jesse McNeill, Lovecoast has been busy creating its first album 鈥� Chasing Tides. And they鈥檙e pulling out all the stops. The self-described R&B, pop, indie band has hired producer Tom Dobrzanski to lead the way. He鈥檚 the man behind Monarch Studios and the popular Vancouver bands Said The Whale and We Are The City.聽
鈥淲e hired him to do the debut,鈥� Sweeney says.
The band is raising $10,000 to cover the five-song CD. They鈥檝e also hired a publicist and are heading for a tour of western Canada this fall. While the band has raised just under $6,000 on the international crowdfunding site Indiegogo and received a government grant for $1,500, they hope to raise a further $1,000 at an upcoming fundraiser in 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 on Sept. 13. The money will help cover costs related to the tour and publicist.聽
鈥淲e really want to get our name out there and get noticed. This is our first step into the [musical] world,鈥� Sweeney says.聽
On Saturday (Sept. 13), the band will play at their fundraiser at the 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 Legion. Tickets cost $10 at the door at 7 p.m. The band will hit the stage from 8 to 11 p.m.聽
鈥淭here will be guests of some sort,鈥� Sweeney said. 鈥淚t will just be a really fun night.鈥澛�
Lovecoast will kick off their western Canada tour in 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 on November 8. They will travel to Vancouver Island and Alberta.聽
