A local theatre troupe’s production of a classic Tennessee Williams play earned accolades at a North Shore zone theatre festival last week.

Kathy Daniels, who played a leading role in The Glass Menagerie, was named Best Actor Female, Michael Hewitt took home the Outstanding Achievement by a Director honour and Between Shifts won the award for Backstage Cooperation at the North Shore Zone Theatre Festival on Friday (May 9) in North Vancouver.

The local production, which recently completed a two-week run at the Eagle Theatre, also earned honourable mention for Best Production. Todd Weitzel earned honourable mention for Best Actor Male and Maclean Falkins made honourable mention for Best Supporting Actor Male.

While Between Shifts’ production did not advance to the Theatre B.C. Festival this July, the troupe’s main costume designer did.
