Alan Moberg is playing at the Brackendale Art Gallery on Saturday, June 28.

He鈥檚 a little cowboy and a little islander. But there鈥檚 one thing for sure: He鈥檚 all B.C.

On Saturday (June 28), well-known Canadian performer Alan Moberg will be at the Brackendale Art Gallery (BAG) performing his West Coast-centric songs that focus on everything from ranching to farming and fishing.听

鈥淚 saw him play on Salt Spring Island,鈥 BAG founder Thor Froslev said. 鈥淗e鈥檚 unbelievable.鈥澨

Over the past four decades, the Salt Spring resident has released 16 recordings of music and songs. He was honoured at the Williams Lake Stampede for the 40th anniversary of his Williams Lake Stampede song. The song has travelled worldwide,听 having been picked up by various choirs, from the Chor Leoni to the Maple Leaf Singers.听

Dubbed B.C.鈥檚 most authentic troubadour, Moberg was called 鈥淐anada鈥檚 best-kept musical secret,鈥 by country music historian Harold Kendall.听

In 2008, Moberg was inducted into the B.C. Country Music Hall of Fame. He is the winner of three B.C. Country Music Association awards and received the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada鈥檚 Certificate of Merit Award for 鈥渁n outstanding contribution to Canadian Music.鈥澨

The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought for $20 at Xocolatl on Cleveland Avenue or at the BAG on Government Road.听
