BAG hosts I, Braineater

Creator of venue鈥檚 unicorn statue returns for musical performance

Jimmy Cummins, the artist responsible for creating the unicorn statue located outside the Brackendale Art Gallery, returns to the venue on Saturday (July 19) for a retrospective of his art, plus a musical performance.

Cummins, also known perhaps more commonly as I, Braineater, is a veteran of Vancouver鈥檚 punk scene in the 1970s. The moniker came from the name of his old punk band, The Braineaters.

鈥淲e had a pretty wild time of it,鈥 he told the 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料.

Cummins is also an established artist and performer, known for his album art for industrial music performer Skinny Puppy.

鈥淚鈥檓 still working as an artist, performer, sculptor and musician,鈥 he said.

For his BAG show, Cummins said he will perform a 鈥渇ragmented, updated Donovan/T-Rex type of thing,鈥 as well as showcasing some of his art works.

鈥淲e are going to have a whole collection of stuff,鈥 he said. 鈥淭here will be paintings and prints. We will have a salon-style gallery from floor to ceiling.鈥

The free I, Braineater concert and art show starts at 8 p.m.听
